About this Beach

Cala Luna is perhaps the most famous beach in the Gulf of Orosei, a dramatic crescent of golden sand nestled between towering white limestone cliffs and lush oleander groves. The beach is framed by six spectacular natural caves carved into the cliff face, offering welcome shade and a sense of adventure. Accessible by boat from Cala Gonone or via a spectacular 3-hour coastal hike, Cala Luna rewards visitors with gin-clear water and a wild, unspoiled atmosphere that feels like stepping into another world. It has appeared in numerous films and travel publications as the symbol of Sardinian beauty.

Wow, what a place, we enjoyed it very much. You can reach this place by foot, by boat or both ways. 2 hours 6,5 km hiking trail leads to the beach from Cala Fuili, the trail is challenging, but rewarding,. We used both ways for reaching the beach - the hike and a boat on the way back for 15€. The beach itself is long, lovely, picturesque with soft sand, clear turquoise water, go along the shore and you will be awarded with natural caves formed by the cliffs.

Amazing beach! It’s crowded because of the boat tours but you can cross to the caves where it’s much better

It's not the easiest place to reach — you either hike for a couple of hours or take a boat (30 euro)— but it’s 100% worth it. The beach itself is stunning: soft sand, clear turquoise water, and big caves right along the shore that give you shade when the sun gets too strong. The view looks like a postcard, but real. No loud crowds, just nature and peace.

This place has clear water and beautiful views. We came in the beginning of May, water is still cold. But when you will see this you will want to get in. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful. Little advise get the small boat, not the cruise.

Unforgettable kayak adventure

Rented a kayak and paddled along the cliffs — it was the highlight of our Sardinia trip. The beach itself is stunning with golden sand and clear water. The picnic basket was a lovely touch with real local products.

Magia pura

Cala Luna e' magia.

Nature at its finest

Cala Luna feels like a secret world hidden between the cliffs. The caves are incredible to explore. We did the guided snorkel tour and saw amazing marine life. Just bring water shoes for the rocky entry.
